Cinema

& Poetry

I am a Brazilian poet and filmmaker with a deep passion for film editing. To me, poetry and editing are intertwined —a syntax of words and images that shapes the meaning of human existence. My artistic focus lies in documentary films and video art, often drawing from autobiographical contexts. I take inspiration from filmmakers Jonas Mekas, Chantal Akerman, Andrei Tarkovsky, and Pier Paolo Pasolini —each of whom explored their personal worlds to create universal resonance with audiences.

Artistically, I strive to craft a cinematic style where poetry unfolds through visuals, using fragments of my life, my era, and the people who surround me. My works are not solely for myself but often for others —expressed through dialogues and shared experiences with those I love. I believe cinema and poetry serve as vital communication bridges with my closest ones.

In the audiovisual market, I work as an editor, assistant director, and screenwriter for documentaries. My recent projects include editing the video installation “Agnès Varda: Del otro lado del espejo”, directed by Mercedes Alvarez; serving as assistant director for the feature documentary “Miralles” by Maria Mauti; and writing for the feature documentary “Carcereiras” by Julia Hannud.

As a director, I began with short films such as “Life” (2022), exhibited at Ropewalk Museum, England; “La Ventana”(2020), an official selection for the What About Tomorrow? exhibition at Galeria Art Veine; “A Casa do Tempo Perdido”(2015), shown at PUC Minas; and “Rio Morto” (2018), screened at In Short Film Festival Nigeria. My upcoming film, “I Am Not a Filmmaker”, winner of the BH nas Telas 2020 award, is currently in production.
