LA VENTANA

La Ventana is a visual poem made from the creative union of Minas Gerais filmmaker Izabela Silva and Mexican poet Sofía Minerva. During the isolation phase of COVID 19, the algorithms of the Instagram network connected the artists, initiating an affective interaction of sharing poetry, sounds and images. Izabela, in confinement in the interior of Minas Gerais and Sofía Minerva in Mexico City. Using the smartphone, Izabela's mother becomes an actress, and the sounds of the windows captured in both cities form the ambience. The result is the petrification of waiting. An attempt to reveal a prison that sublimates itself beyond a quarantine, but as an intrinsic condition to the oppressions of being a woman.
